SUMI-E

Sumi-e is the Japanese painting style using only black ink. I incorporate elements of red, however, to make my pieces pop a bit more, usually with the sun, cherry blossoms, or the head of a Sandhill Crane. I began painting sumi-e in 2024. This style of art is so pleasing to me. Every stroke is minimal but purposeful.
